Fender Stratocaster - ST68-120 SPL- Japan

Omdat ik voornamelijk nog actief ben als bassist te koop deze bijzonere Fender Stratocaster ST68-120 SPL Japan. De gitaar is slechts in 1993 en beperkt geproduceerd voor de Japanse markt en mag als redelijk zeldzaam worden gezien.
Uitgevoerd in Vintage White met American ST-Vintage Black Bobbin pickups.

De zeer slanke 7,25” maple C-hals heeft de grote CBS-headstock, een enkele stringguide en Schaller F-key tuners.

Het “geschreven” logo “Made in Japan” duidt er op dat de gitaar in opdracht is gebouwd door Tokai als exacte reproductie van de legendarische ’69 Woodstock Stratocaster.

De gitaar is een toonbeeld van Japans vakmanschap en verder geupgraded met Raw Vintage (!) brugzadels wat de sound bijzonder ten goede komt.

Verkeert nog in bijzonder mooie staat met slechts hier en daar wat scars maar dat mag ook wel na 30 jaar.

Klinkt en speelt voortreffelijk. Deze uitvoering mag niet worden verward met de later uitgebrachte (en goedkopere) ST-68 TX versie

Deze redelijk zeldzame Stratocaster mag weg voor € 1450,00. Op meerdere internationale platforms ligt dat ruimschoots hoger

Bieden mag maar wel met respect voor dit kwaliteitsinstrument.
Onzinbiedingen doen in elk geval niet mee.

Ruil mogelijk met Fender USA reissue '60 Precision of Jazz bass. Ook een Gibson Non-Reverse Thunderbird bass heeft mijn interesse.


ST68-120SPL is a very rare guitar that appeared only in the 1993 catalog. It was only listed in the "Custom Edition" series for one year. This guitar has 1968 specs including a large head, 1st period CBS head logo, 1 string guide, Schaller F-key tuners, pasted maple fingerboard, and no skunk stripe. Furthermore, it is made by Tokai, which is even rarer.The "Made in Japan" logo in writing is proof of Tokai manufacture. Combined with the VWH color, this Stratocaster is an exact replica of the legendary Woodstock guitar of 1969. Just like an "Izabella"!

The ST68-120SPL has a carefully selected alder body with USA-made Staggered pole-piece pickups that produce a solid mid-bass tone.The clean tone and crunch reproduce the glorious sound of a Stratocaster. The half-tone position produces a delicate, glasswork-like sound that is also very comfortable to play when cutting. The unique treble brightness of the pasted maple neck is probably responsible for the unique sound. When the gain is turned up, it can bark all-around from a powerful Rock sound to a sticky Bluesy sound. It truly recreates the character of a 1968 Stratocaster. It makes you want to step on the Germanium Fuzz pedal and the wah-wah pedal!
