Gotham Central Volume 5: Dead Robin

The detectives and uniformed officers of Gotham City have a lot to deal with. Their city is crime-ridden, they have the largest and worse number of freaks in the DC Universe, and they have a vigilante super-hero constantly upstaging them. Until now. This new ongoing series by former Detective Comics scribe Greg Rucka and current Detective writer Ed Brubaker, puts the Gotham City Police Department center stage with only brief appearances by Gotham’s most famous costumed hero. Rotating writing responsibilities focus the stories on hard crime fiction by two of the best at the genre. Atmospheric pencils by Michael Lark (see his and Brubaker’s Scene of the Crime mini from Vertigo) only add to the mean streets of Gotham that these cops patrol. This series is something different from the Bat-universe that any crime fan should be reading.
