Haut-parleur RCA 103 de 1928 à vendre.

The maximum capabilities of the loud-speaker are obtained when it is connected to a radio receiver, or an amplifier unit, in which power-amplifier Radiotrons UX-120, UX-112-A or UX-171-A are used in the last audio stage."

David Sarnof: "The first of the cone-type speakers was the Model 100, a distinctly electronic-looking speaker, but in 1928, RCA introduced the Model 103. Anything that belied its mechanical nature was covered in wood or silk— it had a wooden frame instead of the metal of the Model 100, and the speaker portion was disguised by a tapestry of flowers in a vase in the front, and a silk covering in the back. This made the 103 not just a speaker, but a piece of furniture that would not have looked amiss in the early 20th century home. This, coupled with radios in attractive wooden cabinets, helped bring radios out of basements and into American living rooms."

Bien plus que des éloges donc pour cette enceinte en tapisserie de la fin des années 1920.
Celui-ci est en bon état (sans parler des signes d'usure courants) : la "tapisserie"* n'a pas de trous, le bois artificiel n'est ni endommagé ni fissuré, la couverture en soie au dos a été légèrement desserrée à cause des frottements mais elle est complètement présente (photo 2) et dans sa coupe d'origine.

Un 103 en mauvais état coûte aussi peu que 100$, un exemplaire en si bon état peut facilement coûter le double, même (Radio Attic) +300$ (plus les frais d'expédition et d'importation).

Ce haut-parleur a été acheté dans les années 1980 dans un magasin d'antiquités à Bruxelles.

Conclusion : très rare dans cet état.
